It’s final preparation time. Just a few measly, insufficient hours before I get to press that big green launch  button on the Lairytales Kickstarter campaign.

Deep breaths.

This has been a lot of fun and a lot of work. Crowdfunding isn’t just about getting some cash together to fund your project. It’s about finding out whether people like what you’re doing, whether there could be a market for your work, and testing your commitment to your cause. When you’ve proofed your campaign content for the 58th time, you’ll know if this is the thing you really love after all.

If you’re reading this I’m guessing you’re one of the people who have read, shared, liked and retweeted my posts this year. Every single time you did that it picked me back up and made me more determined to give this a go. Thank you, you will probably never know how much it’s meant to me.

I’m going to get annoying over the coming month. You’ll probably feel like muting, unfollowing or defriending me as I push and post and publicise this campaign. Please don’t – your support got me this far (and I promise to calm down in 30 days).

I’ve got to go now. There are still press releases to finalise, messages to write and emails to set up. Plus I’ll probably need to proofread the campaign content for the 59th time.

See you at 10.30am tomorrow. I have a feeling we’re not going to get much sleep tonight.
